The Manor Mustang Marching Band won second place at the annual Capital City Marching Festival this past Saturday.
Despite heavy rain and delays, the squad faced off against dozens of other school districts around Austin and earned an impressive array of accolades. The Marching Ensemble earned second place and the People's Choice Award, while the Percussion and Color Guard placed second as well.
"It was a challenging day in the face of rain and repeated delays, but the spirit of the band did not falter," said Chris Diaz, Manor Senior High School Assistant Band Director. "The staff and I are incredibly proud of what we accomplished."
"Our staff and students have committed to working hard this season and I am glad they are seeing some of the work pay off thus far," said Renferd Joseph, MISD Fine Arts Director.
Congratulations to the Mustang Band from all of us at Manor ISD!
