The Manor ISD Theater Department went to the Texas Thespians Festival, which is a state theater competition and festival in Dallas, where staff and students spent four days in high competition with 1,200 schools around the state of Texas.
Seventeen Manor ISD theatre student actors and technicians were put to the test in acting, singing, dancing, and technical elements, where four Manor High School students qualified for nationals. In order to qualify for nationals, a performer or technician must have received a perfect score or a superior rating from all three judges. The students who are going to nationals received both a perfect score as well as a superior rating from two out of the three judges.
The 290 Players Theater Co. & Manor High School drama are incredibly proud to have competed at this level. Troupe 5485 made a great impression on the State Theatre Festival and competition and is incredibly proud of Hugo Farelas, Piage Simpson, Destiny Nix, and Xavier Gomez. Manor ISD would also like to recognize our other 5485 troupe members that attended this competition: Scott Macintosh, Grace Eisenberg, Jarita de Leon, James Baark, Amber Baker, Ediley Galvan, Amani Wilkins, Britney Mendoza, Alejandro Zarate, Victoria Lopez, Khameyah Taylor, Bryam Vargas, Folasade Fashina.
Thank you Manor ISD theatre students for all your hard work.
