I have a favor to ask. Every year, there’s a week in February that we celebrate as National FFA Week. This year it is February 19-23. FFA Chapters from all around the country use this time to share with local, state, and national audiences what FFA is and the impact it has on members every day. Chapters do everything from dress-up days to community service projects, to showing everyone what FFA pride is all about!
This year, our chapter has several exciting activities planned, but we would like your help with one of them. We are going to hold a Kiss the Pig contest. The idea is to have three groups of people…Admin, Teachers, and Ag Teachers…with about five people per group. Kids will have the opportunity to put money into the jar of the people they would most like to see win. On Friday, whatever person from each of the three groups has the most money will have to kiss a pig. The money raised through this will be donated to Grants for Growing sponsored by Tractor Supply, which uses grants to further or boost existing agricultural education programs.
Here’s where we need your help. We were hoping at least 5 of you would volunteer to take part in this and help out our FFA Chapter. I know our officers are very excited about this fundraiser, and so are us Ag Teachers! We can’t wait to get teacher commitments so we can get the list of name to all our students and start raising money!!
