I'm pleased to be joining Manor High School for the 2016-17 school year and look forward to what's in store for the district.
This is my first full year teaching, but I have served as a substitute in numerous classrooms over the past several years and look forward to building positive relationships with students for many years to come! I am currently Highly Qualified in 5 subject areas including Family & Consumer Science, English for grades 7-12, Health for all grades, Health Science grades 6-12, and Speech grades 7-12. My Baccalaureate degree in Nursing was awarded in 2014 and I have been a Registered Nurse since 2012.
I grew up as an Air Force brat and have lived in Texas, Germany, and Hawai'i. Coincidentally, I met and married my husband of nearly 24 years while still attending high school in Hawai'i. How many folks can say they got married in Hawai'i, right?
I'm the mother of 5 GREAT kids (in case they see this...) - 2 amazing young men who graduated from Taylor High in 2015 - the eldest is currently a sophomore at Texas State University in San Marcos, 1 lovely daughter who is a freshman at THS, and twin terrors, I mean two little boy blessings... who are in 3rd grade.
I enjoy painting, singing, and reading big fat books whenever possible. If you'd like to come visit one of my classes sometime, please contact me and it might be arranged. Have a wonderful day, & GO MUSTANGS!
