This is my fourteenth year in education. I taught for many years in Austin ISD at LBJ High School and, more recently, at Cedar Creek High School in Bastrop ISD.
I started my college exploration at the University of the Incarnate Word before transferring to UTSA to finish my B.A. in English. After teaching for a few years, I went back to school for my M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M University, and in the summer of 2015, I graduated from Texas State University with my M.A. in Literature.
I love learning new things, reading, watching movies, being outdoors, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and pets.
One of my goals this year is to become involved in campus activities and building strong relationships with students, their families, and the community. I sponsor the Fiction to Film Club, am an academic coach for several UIL events, am hoping to help organize some college and career field trips, and I am looking into ways to start a community garden.
While this may be my first year at MHS, I am looking forward to it being an amazing one, and I invite you to contact me at any time if you have any questions or concerns.
