Hello! My name is Stephanie Bishop, and I teach English III and IV at Manor High School! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Florida International University in Miami and am excited to share with your students the power of the written word!  I am looking forward to a challenging but thrilling year of growth and success, as I know you are!

stephanie.bishop@manorisd.net- Please note that email is my preferred method of communication!

Tutorials by appointment.  I am available by 7:30 AM before school Monday-Friday and until 5:15 PM every afternoon. Please obtain a pass from me the day before so that you are allowed to remain on campus past 4:45 PM.

Conference period M-F from 1:25-3:00 PM.

Please see my syllabus for classroom rules, policies, and procedures.  When absent, all work is available in my room from the "Miss, What Did I Miss?!" folders at the front of my room.

I previously taught 9th grade which culminates in the English I EOC. Some Juniors and Seniors may still not have passed the exam, either. Want an idea of what the English I EOC will be like (hint: It's NOT like the 8th grade exam at all!)?  TEA gives you access to released STAAR tests.  Go to http://tea.texas.gov/student.assessment/staar/writing/ and scroll down to English I and II for writing rubrics.

"... a disturbing national trend wherein children are funneled out of public schools and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Many of these children have learning disabilities or histories of poverty, abuse or neglect, and would benefit from additional educational and counseling services. Instead, they are isolated, punished and pushed out."
