Manor High School has formed a special Olympics team—the first in Manor ISD. The team will expand the opportunity for participation in competitive sports to more students than ever before.
Though the program will start at MHS, the plan is to allow for participation in more schools and more grade levels over time.
To kickoff the new program at MISD, the district held an event 9 a.m. Sat. Sept. 30 in front of MHS.
The first team to participate in the Special Olympics for Manor ISD will be a bowling team, and MISD plans to expand to basketball and track and field in the future. Manor ISD’s team has started practice, and plans to compete in the local and state Special Olympics competitions later this year.
