Did you know that 1 in 3 teens are victims of dating abuse? In Manor, 70 percent of students did not recognize that acting jealous if you partner talks to other people could be a form of abuse. Also, half of teens don’t know that snooping through their partner’s phone could be abusive. Are you one of those people? If so, that could lead to you being in an unhealthy relationship in the future. This February we challenge you to break unhealthy habits and help your friends if they have them too.
You can start by trusting your partner and talking to them about why you have these bad habits. Share your opinions ask questions—for example, why do you need my password?—and then make a decision. Pay attention to the Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month posters around your school! Go to http://www.loveisrespect.org/#quizhome to find out how healthy your relationship is.
